At the last Impressionist Exhibition, held in 1886, Berthe Morisot presented eleven oil paintings, one of them showing a very intimate moment of a woman's daily toilette.
Called 'The Great Lady of Painting' for her efforts to capture the sensations of vision through a complex network of broken brushstrokes, she placed it at the forefront of her time. Her painting, linked to her own life, shows her surroundings with great naturalness.
